Andy Teacher

Position: Press liaison, Reita
Head of Media, British Property Federation

Andrew Teacher, currently press liaison for Reita and head of media for the British Property Federation, is an award-winning PR and media expert with a background spread across business, politics and the arts.

Andrew, 28, was born in London and has worked at the BPF for over three years, overhauling the way in which the property industry is viewed in the wider media. Noted for his non-conformist approach to an old-fashioned industry, he has succeeded in bringing many large property firms together to push important, and often massively technical issues, into the glare of the news media; changing the way the property industry approaches the media and how the media perceives it.

In 2009 Andrew won the Public Affairs News Private Sector Award for his campaign against empty property rates.

Along with previous experience as a lobbyist for Boots and Specsavers Andrew previously worked as a speechwriter at the Department of Trade and Industry and as a project director for Oxfam’s Oxjam music festival, raising thousands of pounds through local music events.

Outside of property, Andrew continues to work as a freelance journalist and as music editor on the quarterly independent magazine Fashion Music Style. His interests include travel, sports, classical poetry as well as playing the guitar and piano.
