Reita.org site changes

1 March 2008

We hope you like Reita.org’s fresh new look. We’ve updated our home page layout and given the whole site a simpler, fresher design.

It's all designed to make the vast amount of information we now hold on the site easier to find, straight away. Which is why we’ve divided our home page links into three categories: Why invest in property?, Where can you invest? and What’s happening?. All the navigation on the left hand side of the page remains the same.

We do know, though, how annoying it can be when sites you use regularly alter their layout. So if you are having difficulty finding anything we've explained the changes below.

Reita.org will continue to evolve as we develop more tools, gather more materials, publish more commentaries and move into new areas such as IFA education (see our recent press release).

Everything we do is connected to our central aim to support a clearer understanding of the REITs and quoted property market. We'd love to know what you think of how we're doing, what you like and don't like, and what information you'd like to see here. If you have anything to say, please drop us a line at info@reita.org

Navigation changes

We've changed some of the names on the left hand navigation bar in the hope of making them simpler and easier to understand.

First, we grouped some of the sections together, for example those aimed at advisers, investors and journalists - it then made sense to change the name of the Press Centre to For journalists.

The Knowledge Centre is now renamed as Library, as it more accurately describes what you'll find there (our download libraries). And we've promoted our useful links page to having its own left hand button as we think it's really... useful.

Finally, we've taken a couple of items off the main navigation. The Property investment overview (formerly known as Why Property Investment?) can now be found in the For advisers section (a more investor-focused version can still be found in the For investors section).

The Contact us section is now within our About us section (you can also find it at the bottom of the page which is consistent with a lot of other sites).

Removing these two sections is partly about changing priorities and partly about making space for new ventures in the coming year such as our work with advisor education (see above for our press release).

Site changes

Our home page is now split into five new sections:

This spot will alert you to the latest updates from important new research, guides, reports, fact sheets and press releases to new areas launched on the site.

About us
This section explains a little about who we are, what we're trying to achieve and who the site is aimed at. We'll also use this section to let you know about new initiatives we're involved in.

Why invest in property?
This section includes links to the information on our site which gives a clearer understanding of the REITs and quoted property market, including guides, research, fact sheets and an overview of the sector itself. The section directly beneath it highlights the latest piece of information we’ve added to the site.

Where can you invest?
This section includes links to the areas on our site which deal with performance and research information on REITs, quoted property companies and the funds that invest in them. From here you can jump to our popular at-a-glance tables for REITs and quoted property companies, our charting tool, our funds' links page and more.

Please note Reita does not provide any financial advice and we would always recommend seeking independent financial advice. We've provided a link to help you find an IFA in your area.

What's happening?
This section highlights the most topical information sections, including video interviews and debates, events, press releases and links to the latest news stories. In the coming months we’ll be featuring more commentary and opinion pieces.

We hope you like the changes we've made to Reita.org and would love to hear what you think - so do please send us feedback.
