Morgan Stanley Real Estate-Europe, part of Morgan Stanley & Co. Limited’s Investment Banking Division. Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) is a global financial services firm and a market leader in securities, investment management, and credit services with more than 600 offices in 30 countries.

Main areas of activity

Morgan Stanley Real Estate is comprised of three major global businesses: Investing, Banking, and Lending.

• Investing: Since 1991, Morgan Stanley has acquired over $87 billion of real estate assets worldwide and currently manages over $50 billion in real estate assets on behalf of its clients.
• Investment Banking: Morgan Stanley Real Estate provides a complete range of market-leading investment banking services to its clients including underwriting public and private equity and debt financings, as well as advice on strategy, mergers, acquisitions and restructurings. Over the course of the last ten years, Morgan Stanley has been the bookrunner for approximately $4.5 billion of European property company public equity issues.
• Lending: Morgan Stanley is also a global leader in real estate lending and, using its own capital, originated upwards of $26 billion in commercial mortgages in 2005.

Property interests

Morgan Stanley manages over $50 billion of real estate assets globally. In Europe, Morgan Stanley Real Estate manages approximately $9 billion of real estate assets in all major asset classes, including Office, retail, industrial, residential, hotel, assisted living and mixed use and manages real estate private equity funds with either a core or an opportunistic investment strategy.
